Characteristics of JIS G4304/4312 SUS 301 Stainless Steel

Mechanical Properties:
The yield strength (YS) is ≥205 MPa, the tensile strength (TS) is ≥520 MPa, and the elongation (EL) is ≥40%, indicating a combination of high strength and good ductility.
In terms of hardness, the Brinell hardness (HB) is ≤187, the Rockwell hardness (HRB) is ≤90, and the Vickers hardness (HV) is ≤200, with further increases in hardness achievable through cold working.
It exhibits excellent fatigue resistance, making it suitable for components subjected to cyclic loading.

Corrosion and Heat Resistance:
It demonstrates good corrosion resistance under atmospheric conditions, though its resistance may decline in high-temperature or highly corrosive environments (e.g., chloride-containing media).
It maintains stable performance within a certain temperature range due to its favorable heat resistance.

Processing and Welding Performance:
It is easily processed via cold rolling, hot rolling, annealing, etc., and its surface can be finished in various states such as matte, bright, brushed, or 8K mirror, meeting both aesthetic and functional requirements.
It offers excellent welding performance, allowing for connection through multiple welding methods and making it suitable for manufacturing complex structural components.

Cost-Effectiveness:
Compared to other high-nickel stainless steels (e.g., 304, 316), SUS 301 has lower nickel content, resulting in lower costs. Additionally, its high strength can be achieved through cold working, providing a high cost-performance ratio.
